The tour of “A Rifle and a Bag” continues despite the adverse circumstances experienced by the film industry. With more onsite screenings happening, we are archiving the spring events in this article.
26 February - 6 March 2021 at Miradasdoc International Documentary Film Festival (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain)
The Spanish premiere of “A Rifle and a Bag” took place at Miradasdoc in the Best First Film Competition. The film received a Special Mention of the Jury and maybe even more importantly, two of the directors - Cristina Hanes and Isabella Rinaldi - attended the onsite film festival in order to meet with the local audience, the festival crew and other filmmakers that could join! It was a truly mesmerizing week, as we also discovered the islands with this ocassion.

5 - 14 March 2021 at Portland International Film Festival (U.S.A)
On the other side of the Atlantic, “A Rifle and a Bag” had its U.S. Premiere in the Future//future Competition happening fully online, at the same time with Miradasdoc. 5 - 7 March 2021 at IAWRT Asian Women’s Film Festival (International Association of Women in Radio and Television, India)
“A Rifle and a Bag” was part of the selected films of the 17th edition of IAWRT Asian Women's Film Festival that rolled out online this year. The festival celebrates women voices from across the Asian continent.

18 - 28 March 2021 at FICUNAM Mexico
During the 2021 edition of FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE UNAM from Mexico City, “A Rifle and a Bag” was streamed online all across Mexico. This event marked the Latin American premiere for the film and it was an honour for us to have our work presented at this particularly wonderful festival.

This year, Isola del Cinema organised an online festival featuring “A Rifle and a Bag” in the “Fuoco sul Reale” section.

Aiming to spotlight Female Directors of Photography, FemCine from Chile went online to celebrate cinematic works from Costa Rica, Argentina and our film, filmed in India by Cristina Hanes from Romania.

20 - 26 March 2021 at Ponnani International Film Festival India
IFFP has invited a package of films from the 17th IAWRT AWFF where “A Rifle and a Bag” was shown earlier in March 2021.
9-25 April 2021 at Asian Film Archive Singapore
Salon “Reframe: A Time to Resist” invited “A Rifle and a Bag” to be part of the curatorial program showcasing “how Indian cinema has endured as a site through which democracy has been imagined and negotiated”. The onsite (!) screening in the Oldham Theatre is succeeded by an online streaming available only in Singapore (12 April - 9 May 2021): https://vimeo.com/asianfilmarchive/vod_pages
